Brisbane, Australia – 4 August 2025 – Mateenbar Australia today announced the appointment of Jack Geiblinger and Edward (Eddie) Sanchez to newly created Business Development & Sales leadership roles as the company scales to meet rapidly growing demand for non‑corrosive glass fibre‑reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebar solutions across the Australian infrastructure market.

Seasoned construction materials executives join to help Australia build longer‑lasting, corrosion‑proof infrastructure.

Australia’s infrastructure pipeline – spanning coastal protection, ports & marine, transport upgrades, defence, water & wastewater, and industrial renewals – faces a persistent and costly challenge: steel reinforcement that corrodes when exposed to salt, chlorides, acidic environments or aggressive wastewater chemistry. Mateenbar® GFRP rebar does not rust, helping asset owners extend service life, reduce maintenance cost, and protect public investment.

Strategic Hires to Drive Market Adoption

Jack Geiblinger – Business Development Manager (Commercial & Precast)
Jack joins Mateenbar Australia with strong frontline sales and growth experience across coatings, concrete, steel reinforcement, and construction systems. He has led turnaround growth initiatives, secured B2B supply agreements, supported product R&D and specification, and built relationships with architects, builders, strata managers, asset owners, and precast manufacturers. Jack’s practical, solutions‑based approach and deep familiarity with Queensland and interstate construction markets position him to expand Mateenbar’s reach into commercial building, multi-residential, remedial, and precast applications.

Edward (Ed) Sanchez – National Sales Manager (Civil & Infrastructure)
Ed brings decades of success winning specification and supply into large civil, government, and infrastructure projects across every major Australian state and territory. His career spans senior roles in concrete additives, civil products, steel reinforcement, water infrastructure, and engineered systems. Ed is known for technical credibility with engineers, strong government and Tier‑1 contractor networks, and a track record of lifting territory market share, negotiating long‑term contracts, and guiding complex tender processes from concept to award. He will lead Mateenbar’s engagement with transport agencies, defence, water authorities, and major infrastructure consortiums.

Executive Commentary

“Jack and Ed have each built strong reputations in the Australian construction sector. They’re practical, solutions-focused, and strong communicators – exactly what’s needed to help more Australian engineers and contractors move to smarter, longer-lasting materials,” said Jasper Holdsworth, CEO Pultron Composites.  “We’ve invested heavily in quality control systems and laboratory equipment to ensure every Mateenbar product meets the highest standards – something that sets us apart in the market.”

“Specifiers and precast manufacturers are looking for proven alternatives where steel is failing prematurely – particularly in coastal, remedial, and high‑moisture environments,” said Jack Geiblinger. “Mateenbar is ready, available, and backed by global manufacturing excellence. I’m excited to help more Australian projects make the shift.”

“From highways to wastewater treatment and marine structures, asset owners want longer design life without the corrosion penalty,” added Ed Sanchez. “Mateenbar gives engineers a dependable, cost‑effective path to build it once and build it right.”

Why Mateenbar® GFRP Rebar

  • Will not rust: Immune to chloride‑induced corrosion; ideal for coastal, marine, splash‑zone, and de‑icing salt exposure conditions.
  • Protects water assets: Resistant to wastewater and chemical attack that can compromise steel in treatment plants, tanks, and sewer infrastructure.
  • High performance: Approximately twice the tensile strength of steel (by weight) while weighing roughly one‑quarter as much, enabling lighter lifts, faster placement, and lower transport costs.
  • Non‑electro‑magnetic & non‑conductive: Suitable near sensitive equipment, electrical infrastructure, data facilities, and MRI/EM applications.
  • Safer, easier handling: Lightweight bars reduce manual handling risk and can simplify site logistics, remote access, and retrofits.
  • Factory‑lacquered/protective coating options: Enhanced durability and site identification; improves ease of inspection and placement.
  • Lifecycle value: Eliminates corrosion repair cycles common with steel – helping owners reduce total cost of ownership over the asset life.

Applications At‑A‑Glance

  • Coastal & Marine: Sea walls, ports, jetties, boardwalks, coastal bridges, ferry terminals.
  • Transport & Civil: Road & rail bridges, barrier walls, culverts, tunnel linings.
  • Water & Wastewater: Treatment plants, clarifiers, effluent channels, tanks, manholes.
  • Buildings & Precast: Balconies, façade panels,
  • podium decks, pool structures, corrosion‑prone basements.
  • Specialty / EM‑Sensitive: Hospitals, data centres, defence installations, laboratories.
